Freedom!

Angus came home with her usual pile of papers for me to review from school. As I was sorting through them all, I came up on the page below. She was supposed to describe 5 things all living things need. Check out number 4:

I especially like her drawings on the bottom. Little caterpillars breathing air, eating food and drinking water. One caterpillar sits nicely in its home while another flees for freedom, a little smile on its face. Her teacher is a good sport and gave her a smiley face in the middle but I may have to appeal her decision in marking freedom incorrect. I think it is an excellent answer.

And if you look closely you'll see it's wearing a stripe of blue paint on its face and a kilt.
"Freeeeeeedoooooom!"

I think it's an excellent suggestion!

So perfect Ello...and just more proof that you and Da' Man are doing a good job. :)

PS - I'm still rolling in laughter over the kittens. ;)

I'm sure Mrs. Angus' Teacher is a good teacher, but unless it's a science class and they're supposed to regurgitate the five things, I'm disappointed she marked "freedom" wrong.

Sure, it's cute now, but wait until she's older and explaining that we need to buy her a car because so she may fulfill her "freedom" needs followed by a "Can I have some money to cover my food and water needs too?"

Freedom is a good choice. And so rare.

I think it's the BEST choice, the best answer of them all. Without a single doubt.

I'm with you on that, Ello -- I'd have marked it correct. And I am now infamous for being a tough, mean, bitch of a teacher...

It's a PERFECT answer!

As long as Angus was referring to the state of being freedom, as opposed to the George Michael song Freedom, I've got to side with you on this one too.

Tell Angus I love her.

I consider that a perfect answer in need of a cookie or treat of her choice.

A little Patrick Henry, "Give me Liberty, or give me Death!"

She could argue that point, like a lawyer ;-)

I agree...A brilliant answer. Certainly not wrong.

Seconding Janey, obviously.

However, I'd like to point out to Angus the importance of wine and chocolate.

I concur that "freedom" should be accepted as a correct answer. Otherwise life ain't worth living.

I would've given her extra credit for that one! Very nice!

That's a great answer. I would've pencilled in something like "chocolate" or "Penn Station". But I think "freedom" takes the cake. :)

Great answer.

The answer is almost as good as the response to it is bad. I can't believe this has been crossed out.

Your girls...just wow.

She's thinking, and valuing, beyond her years.

It's a pity she's brighter than her teacher is.

Well, no, actually. It's good that she's brighter than her teacher is.

I'm surprised she didn't put "Christmas presents."

Still, she totally rocks for saying "freedom." Look out when she's a teenager.
